A complete and efficient tool for managing
Poultry red mites
Nor-Feed and Géosane have combined their knowledge and skills to develop a comprehensive and effective tool for managing red mite infestations: the Mite Control Calculator. The aim of the Mite Control Calculator is to take up the recommendations set out in the European Mite Control project, and to facilitate their application to livestock farming. The Mite Control Calculator program features two innovations:
- The creation of a counting target for quick and easy regular monitoring of livestock.
- The development of a Mite Control Calculator mobile application for interpreting counts and calculating the protocol best suited to the situation on the farm. The protocols combine several control methods for optimum efficiency.
A precise tailored intervention protocol in
3 steps
Once the tool has been trained, the breeder will be able toquickly and precisely define his level of infestation and adapt an intervention protocol as soon as possible, all in just 3 steps:
- Installation of traps using the equipment supplied in the kit (compiled according to the recommendations of the Mite Control project) following a guide for distribution in the building;
- Trap collection and counting with the developed target;
- Use the application to directly calculate the level of infestation and establish an intervention protocol adapted to each situation.
